Mat Removal

$25

Maximum of 5 mats under 1 inch in length.

Mats are normal in animals with medium to long lengths of fur (sometimes short length animals too). Mats usually form behind the ears, in armpits, groin, around the anus, on the tail, and between toes. Mats are dense, knotted fur clumps (similar to dreadlocks on humans) and are difficult to work out and remove.

They can hurt the animal as they pinch the skin beneath the mat, and they can cause skin conditions to occur under the mat (mats act similar to a thick sweater). Think of a ponytail that continually gets tighter and tighter to the scalp.

Sometimes mats can be hidden under fur that has been brushed. If the bristles of the brush do not reach all the way to the skin, matting can form under brushed fur.

Removal can hurt (including trimming the mat away from the skin). Nicks and cuts can occur with working out or removing mats as they can be extremely close to the skin. Most of the time, with moderate to severe matting, trimming the mat away from the skin is the most humane and safest way to remove mats.

Sometimes if matting is in a certain area of the animal’s body, the groomer can remove the matted area and keep most of the preferred style of the pet. KatWalk Grooming will do our best to keep your pet looking and feeling their best.

Oatmeal Shampoo

$8

Used to soothe itchy or dry skin, wrinkled dogs, and to condition overly matted or fur prone to matting. This shampoo can also be used on cats and guinea pigs. Hairless animals should use this shampoo as their skin is vulnerable to skin conditions. Has an oatmeal and coconut scent, moderate scent.

Hypoallergenic Shampoo

$6

Used for animals who have allergies or are allergic to scents. Also, for humans who are allergic to scents. Has no scent.

Skin Remedy Shampoo for DOGS ONLY

$5

Used for dogs prone to itchy or dry skin and dogs with hot spots or irritated skin. This shampoo has a strong scent of mint and eucalyptus and therefore cannot be used on cats or guinea pigs.

Scent Spray

About Me

Hi! I’m Katie Walker, otherwise known as KatWalk Grooming. I’m a 29-year-old woman entrepreneur who is fulfilling my dream to work with the creatures I love most… the four-legged fur-babies we love into our families. My love of animals started at birth. Trust me, my mother can tell you many stories about little me pretending to be a dog or cat for the day—all day.

When I reached high school, I started competing in dog shows through the American Kennel Club with my two championed Australian Terriers. That is how my love for grooming came into my story. I love the showmanship and creativity that are hallmarks of the art of grooming.

After earning my associate degree, I started schooling to become a professional groomer. I have dedicated 100 hours of internship with an established groomer and studied online with the Animal Behavior College to become certified. I have groomed professionally since 2018.

I recently earned a bachelor’s degree in creative writing through Southern New Hampshire University and plan to pursue my master’s. I love the fine arts and exercise my talents in pen and ink, pencil, charcoal drawing, sculpture, photography, singing, writing and acting.

A resident of Billings, I live with my handsome cat, Oliver, and my three dogs: Jack, Jesse and Indy. I have four older sisters who live in Denver and a nephew in Gillette, WY. My zest for life and desire to create happiness wherever I am adds to my excitement for this new venture and I hope to gain many—not just clients—but friends.
